Typical Treatment Session

Occupational Therapy treatment sessions typically last 60 minutes. We’ve found that this length is enough time to keep your child engaged, without exhausting their attention and energy.

While the vast majority of the session will be spent working with your child, we reserve approximately ten minutes to liaise with parents, answer questions, provide activities to work on independently, and complete all necessary documentation.

Depending on your child’s needs, we will develop a recommended treatment schedule. Recognizing that each family’s time and financial budget is different, our treatment plans can range from bi-weekly sessions to once a month. In some cases, a school observation/consultation may be recommended in order to get a firm understanding of your child’s specific barriers in their day-to-day routine. In these cases, we will discuss the best methods for accomplishing observations.
